I was contacted by SUNY Plattsburgh, as they were looking for a portrait artist for hire to paint the Official portrait of John Ettling, who was to retire from his presidency at SUNY Plattsburgh. The painting was to be unveiled about 5 months later in early May and I was able to find space in my schedule to fit this portrait commission. We discussed my commissioned art prices and soon had a plan for the portrait painting.
I was able to send them images of the completed work. It was accepted without any changes. Later in mid summer it was hung at the Benjamin F. Feinberg Library on campus. It was a pleasure to work with the university staff on this piece. It’s always an honor to paint an official portrait of a president!
